Is this the norm or shall I be concerned?I actually never really gave any thought into having the ESS system disabled via the Tazer and it having an effect on how it charges the batteries, like I have stated in past posts on my battery voltage, it’s been reading 14+ volts for several months and used to run 12.7-13.9 depending if I was driving steady or accelerating or decelerating but now it’s a constant 14.2 +/- .2I eventually figured out two things. 1) I don't actually have an auxiliary battery (I have a 3.6L automatic). 2) I could charge the battery up but when I removed the charger and checked the voltage it was steadily dropping, somewhere around 0.01 volts/sec. Read the voltage of the battery. Then let it sit overnight. Read the voltage again and see how much it dropped. It shouldn't be much, no more than 0.1v. If it's more than that something is definitely draining the battery. It's called "regenerative braking". Your JL has it. When coasting and foot off the pedal, the generator charges the 48V battery. This applies to vehicles with eTorque. My jeep does not have eTorque. OK, then something isn't quite right.
