It is a niche armor, but it can be effective in those niche situations; not crazy powerful but effective. I wouldn't even say it is BIS anywhere; except for the Helms insane mage def. But it does give a huge accuracy bonus which can be useful against some bosses; for example, you can use it as a budget ...
The upgraded masori (f) set gives 102 stab, 92 slash, 115 crush, 132 magic and 106 range defence bonuses. The same 8 range strength and 3 prayer bonus. Masori is a significant upgrade for your t bow even without the (f) version. At places you don't use t bow like bandos, you will still use BofA and crystal. I'd recommend starting toa asap even .... It’s still a better crystal bow so useable for sure , and sees good use at lizardman shamans (where you can’t use the armor anyway) as a free to use alternative to bp. I would try to limit the use pre corruption though, which is likely if you don’t have the armor yet. If it is though go wild. You need the crystal armor to do a bowfa rebuild. Bowfa is 144m, 6 armour seeds is 37m, totaling 181m. So you don't have enough. Bowfa needs crystal armor to be worth it. You'd also need an extra ~2m in order to have a safety net for supplies and deaths as well. Personally, I don't think bowfa rebuilds are very good anyway.Owning crystal + masori is a bit strange for a main especially without even the bowfa, but if you were an iron you wouldn't suggest "getting rid" of masori. If Iron then I'd suggesting grinding until bowfa. Masori is good with blowpipe, but I think everywhere you would bring a blowpipe you would also bring bowfa, in which case you would just camp crystal armor and not masori. Yes crystal armour with crystal bow has better dps than blowpipe in many places. I use for greater demon tasks and absolutely smack. Insanely good almost everywhere. Bowfa at Various Bosses. I’m slowly approaching 95 slayer and end game PVM content. My next task before I start end game PVM is to obtain the bowfa and crystal armour. After obtaining, I will be killing Zulrah with the bowfa to obtain all three uniques. Other bosses peak my curiosity on whether or not the bowfa will be good. There's a massive difference in accuracy though. In those gear setups the elite void has a maximum accuracy roll of 36,660 but in crystal the max roll is 56,303. So as an example this means the crystal armor has a 28.78% dps increase on Jad over the elite void.I'd recommend buying a Bowfa+Crystal armour if you don't have it already, it's also great for most other PvM in the game so is very worthwhile pre-tbow. You can even just camp Bowfa with a crossbow+sapphire bolt (e) switch for smite phase.
